Food.Fitness.Fun.

If there are three things to have in your day I say make them:
Some FOOD, for fuel.
Some FITNESS, for sanity and for health.
and of course...some FUN!

We know that food is fuel, but can it also be fun?
Food, as we know it, fuels our activities. Whether we run, walk, skateboard, waterski, or play shuffleboard, we need food for fuel. How much? Science says: Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) + Activity Calories Expended= Total Energy Needed

see http://www.momentum4health.com/ for more info on your energy needs!

So where does the "food is fun" part come in? Cooking with friends, learning about new foods, experimenting with new recipes, exploring new cuisines, going on picnics and hikes, learning about nutrition, please add to our list!!

At Momentum Nutrition and Fitness, we hear: "My metabolism is slow" or even "I don't have a metabolism". RMR is based partially on muscle mass and (hate to tell ya) good ol' genetics. Bottom line...
People who move can eat more. People with more muscle (most of the time) can eat more.

So...strength train to build muscle. Move your body. You don't have to invest in a gym full of equipment, just try a few pushups and some squats with your own body. A great place to start!!

Food, fitness and fun.
Give it a try:)

My company wants me to do this thing called CROSSFIT. Do you think this is a good program? It kind of looks like a cult to me. What do you think?
